Privacy
TaskMetrics is built so that there is as little personal information to protect as possible. The short version: we do not ask for your name, email, or anything else, and we delete your files after 24 hours. The longer version follows.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, so no name, email, password, or profile.
- No analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers of any kind.
- No cookies, except a single functional cookie if you opt in to the (currently nonexistent) light/dark theme override.
- No fingerprinting, no canvas tricks, no measuring your scroll depth.
What we briefly hold
- Files you upload — encrypted at rest, kept for at most 24 hours, then permanently deleted by an automated job.
- Standard server logs — request timestamp, path, HTTP status, response size. Retained for 7 days for abuse and debugging, then rotated and deleted.
- IP addresses — appear in the same logs and are subject to the same 7-day retention. They are not linked to any identifier or shared with third parties.
Encryption
Each file is encrypted in your browser with a key derived for that upload. The key is placed in the URL fragment (the part after #), which browsers do not send to servers. Without the original link, the file on disk is opaque ciphertext.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold about you. Because we do not associate uploads with identities, in practice this means: if you want a file removed before its 24-hour window is up, send the link to privacy@taskmetrics.ink and we will delete it. We have no other personal data to give you.
Children
TaskMetrics is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. There is, again, almost no data to collect.
Changes
If this policy ever changes in a way that affects what we collect or how long we keep it, the change will be noted in the changelog and the date at the top of this page will be updated.
